CROSS STREET COACHING

Who am I?
I know what it's like to stand at a crossroads - I've been there more than once.
I started my professional life as an actor and a theatremaker. As well as working in theatres across London as a performer, a director and a dramaturg, I have also appeared in short films, feature films and television commercials. Keen to use the arts to inspire change, particularly in challenging environments, I had the privilege of working in several UK prisons and I saw firsthand the ways in which creative partnerships can support rehabilitation.

When I moved into higher education I was employed by several universities and drama schools, as a lecturer and a senior lecturer before taking leadership positions of various kinds. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy I have a proven track record of working with colleagues, peers and mentees in ways that support change and influence the enhancement of practice in a range of contexts. I have a deep understanding of ways in which people learn, grow, and navigate professional transitions. These are insights that now shape my coaching practice.

At every stage of my journey I have encountered moments of change and challenge, I have wondered whether the next step is the right step, and I have discovered that the most fulfilling ways forward are not leaps into the unknown but intentional, well-crafted transitions that build on your strengths and aspirations.

Today I coach creatives and educators of all kinds, enabling them to lead with authenticity and confidence, communicate with impact and step boldly along new career paths. My approach is informed by years of experience, guiding others through professional and creative evolution and ensuring that change feels not just possible, but purposeful.
What do I do?
I help creatives and educators navigate career transitions and personal growth with clarity, confidence and purpose. My coaching draws on solution-focused methods that highlight your strengths and build on what’s already working. Blending emotional insight with creative and practical thinking, I offer a reflective yet forward-looking experience tailored to your values and goals. Sessions are supportive, focused, and designed to help you move forward quickly and with intention.
How will I help?
Career change, burnout or uncertainty can feel overwhelming. I use a positive, time-efficient approach to help you recognise your own resources, rather than dwell on what's missing. Together we’ll identify goals that are personally meaningful, explore what’s already working, and build small, sustainable steps towards change. With a coaching style that is flexible, empowering and rooted in deep listening, I support you to make confident, values-led decisions.
01 /// Overcoming self-doubt
Transitions can trigger imposter feelings. Whether you’re an educator shifting focus or a creative questioning your next move, you might find yourself doubting your skills. Solution-focused coaching helps you notice exceptions to these doubts and draw strength from past successes. Using open questions, reflection and creative tools, I help you reframe your story, reconnect with your abilities, and move forward with increased belief in yourself.

02 /// Managing burnout and improving emotional resilience
Teaching, performing, writing or leading can be deeply rewarding but also emotionally demanding. You may find yourself depleted, stuck or unsure how to restore balance. Coaching offers a space to slow down, notice what helps, and reconnect with what matters. We'll explore practical ways to reduce overwhelm, protect your energy, and strengthen your emotional resilience, helping you re-engage with your work and your wider life with greater presence.
03 /// Enhancing decision-making and navigating uncertainty
You may be facing a big decision or a growing sense that change is needed, but the options feel unclear. Coaching can help you tune into your inner compass and find a path forward. Together we’ll identify what’s important to you, make the most of your existing strengths, and shape a vision that feels achievable. By focusing on progress rather than perfection, we’ll create momentum and clarity, even when the next step feels uncertain.
04 /// Building trust and enabling more effective communication
Whether you’re facilitating, collaborating or advocating for your own work, communication matters. You may be seeking more confidence in how you present yourself or clarity in how you relate to others. I help you develop self-awareness, strengthen your emotional intelligence, and build strategies that suit your own voice. The result is more authentic, effective connection in both personal and professional relationships.
05 /// Aligning your career with your personal values
It’s easy to lose sight of what matters when caught in routine or pressure. You might be craving more alignment between your work and your deeper values. Coaching offers the space to clarify what’s truly important to you and to set goals that reflect who you are, not just what you do. Through creative, reflective and future-focused sessions, I support you to shape a working life that feels both meaningful and sustainable.
